Image Framing: Sarah Palin Derangement Syndrome

Lately I have been taking a Political Communication class in my last semester of College.  This is my latest entry for it.   I sick of everything going one so here it is. 


In the last two classes we have talked
about how the media frames a political image. The most recent one that has been talked about since the 2008
presidential race is Sarah Palin.  Now I
have title this entry Sarah Plain derangement syndrome all the media attention
is getting out of hand.  Furthermore the
evidence speaks for itself that will be provided.  



In one of the textbook Uncivil Wars: Political Campaigns in the
Media Age, by Thomas Hollihan the chapter on Crafting a Political Image talks
about creating an image.  Hollihan
states, “We are continually exposed to images created by others for our consumption.”
(76)  This definition makes things clear
to me about it just pure consumption.  Also
entertainers like comedians we talked about in class now how to dramatize the
characters.   So comedians like John
Stewart, Tina Fey and others now what we the people are looking for
entertainment.



For the 2008 presidential race Tina Fey
started her impersonation of Sarah Palin as Sarah Palin life continues in the
public persona Tina Fey continues to capitalize this persona.  On Sunday November 14th Sarah

Although this last one is spoof with a complete network but still it
illustrates the image. This is her image framing 



 Now
recently with her daughter Bristol Palin’s appearance on Dancing with the Stars her advancement to the Semi-Finals they are
trying to tie it back to Sarah’s Political image while completely missing the
fact the reason her daughter is advancing with her fans.  My point is related to articles in this
conspiracy people are saying that it is the Tea Party Conspiracy.  For example in these articles  (http://www.salon.com/life/bristol_palin/?story=/ent/tv/2010/11/10/bristol_palin_dancing_queen).  This was started by Jimmy Kimbell on his late
night show and escalated another source (http://today.msnbc.msn.com/id/40078804/ns/today-entertainment/)
This is completely missing the face that Dancing With the Stars season have a
history of fans keeping favorites in the top 3.  First Marie Osmond, Kelly Osbourne, and Now
Bristol Palin.  Maybe the something elese
that fuels this political fire keeps when they show Bristol’s Family in the
audience and sometimes Sarah is there or not. So what is it that keeps this fire burning?



Also keep in mind that Sarah Palin is
not the only conservative political figure this has happened too it happened
with President Ronald Regan and President George W. Bush.  Is this a harsh assessment or not.  Hence my feelings are that is a derangement
syndrome that the liberals fear what they can’t control.  What is your opinion on this topic?

My Opinion on the Supreme Court Ruling of Legalizing Same-Sex Marriage

If you are looking for a post in favor of the Supreme Court ruling on same sex marriage, look elsewhere. Throughout, history the LGBT movement has always told us what their next move is. The LGBT movement will ask for legalization and acceptance of one aspect of  their lives always saying they won’t ask for more.  Once they receive what they ask for, then they ask for more.  -For example: in the 1980’s legalize public gay-sex but we will not ask to legalize same-sex civil unions. Donald Trump's Run for President

Donald Trump's run for President of the United States has been in the works for quite a while. I could see it coming since 2011, when I attended CPAC (Conservative Politiical Action Conference), he was the special guest speaker, and even back then he knew how to hold and engage an audience.
