Spotlight: Republican Candidate Carly Fiorina

The Republican candidate that shows the most promise for the presidential nomination in 2016 is Carly Fiorina. Carly has emerged from two of the three debates, as a top contender with Donald Trump. She comes to the debates with facts at hand and can articulate them and is not thrown off by planted questions that deter from debate. If you talk to the media they will choose one of the male candidates, mostly Jeb Bush, to be the winner, but the non media agree that Carly is the victor without question. A little background on Carly Fiorina shows that she can play with the big boys. Her business career she started out as a secretary at Hewett Packard, but worked her way up to be head by taking advantage of the higher education benefits. This shows that she knows how to prepare for a campaign and for the nomination. Carly being top contender in my book shows she can be the very first woman president of the United States.

Media Distraction: Cecil the lion versus Planned Parenthood scandal

The media is distracting the people of this nation from the Planned Parenthood scandal to the recent killing of Cecil the lion by a U.S. dentist. Who cares, this is a local issue, Zimbabwe has asked for extradition of the dentist. So instead of focusing on the local issue we should focus on the national issue.                                                                                                                   The national issue is Planned Parenthood killing babies in late term abortions and then selling parts of the babies illegally for research. As time goes by more and more videos of what is going on in Planned Parenthood are being released to make the nation aware. Also, as this happens th...

Lafayette Louisiana theatre shooting shifts focus for Governor Bobby Jindal

Governor Bobby Jindal has shifted focus from his Presidential Campaign to Lafayette, Louisiana Theatre shooting. The Governor was 45 minutes away in Baton Rouge when notified of the shooting and headed to Lafayette, then holding a press conference outside the theatre as law enforcement investigated. He said, "We will get through this," and "This is a unified community." This was since details were still being collected and this was the first of several press conferences.                                       In another Press Conference Friday morning the chief of police included more details. The details Police Chief Jim Craft said, "Three are dead including the gunman", a 59 year old drifter. Governor Bobby Jindal added words of encouragement describing his visit with the victims families in the hospital, and also calling this, a "seemingly random act of violence." Throughout all the press ...

Donald Trump's Run for President

Donald Trump's run for President of the United States has been in the works for quite a while. I could see it coming since 2011, when I attended CPAC (Conservative Politiical Action Conference), he was the special guest speaker, and even back then he knew how to hold and engage an audience. I don't remember much of the speech but he did say at one point if the timing is right he would run for President. So now four years later the cards have fallen into place and the timing is right.         His run is ground-breaking because he is funding his own campaign so he can focus on the issues that he feels is really important. One issue that he feels is important is illegal immigration. Trump points out that the other countries are not send the cream of the crop of their society, but the criminals element. His announcement mostly focused on illegal immigrates being from Mexico but the same applies to illegal immigrants from other countries. He believes what he said is tr...

Media Framing: Confederate Battle Flag versus Confederate Flag

For the past few weeks the media has been giving a lot of attention to South Carolina and the removal of an offensive flag. That flag is a battle flag from a Northern Virgina Battalion, but the media has beem framing it like it is the Confederate flag. The word battle is overlooked which causes confusion to the non-historian, either they do not know the difference, or they do not care.        On Friday, July 10, 2015 the Confederate Battle Flag on the statehouse grounds of South Carolina came down ending a decades-long battle, but it does come with conssequences:                  -For example the tv channel TVland stopped showing the show "Dukes of Hazzard" because the offensive battle flag on the main car. One stars of the show, John Scheider, who played Bo Duke, is not happy with the move. He said, " “I am saddened that one angry and misguided individual can cause one of the most beloved television shows in the histo...

My Opinion on the Supreme Court Ruling of Legalizing Same-Sex Marriage

If you are looking for a post in favor of the Supreme Court ruling on same sex marriage, look elsewhere. Throughout, history the LGBT movement has always told us what their next move is. The LGBT movement will ask for legalization and acceptance of one aspect of  their lives always saying they won’t ask for more.  Once they receive what they ask for, then they ask for more.  -For example: in the 1980’s legalize public gay-sex but we will not ask to legalize same-sex civil unions. Then, after some years later it was, legalize civil unions but we will not ask for same-sex marriage.  Now it is legalizing same-sex marriage, but we will not sue churches who will not perform same-sex marriage. When, already we have examples of people suing Christian churches and Christian business who do not believe in same-sex marriages.   -This is why I stand by my faith statement:     - The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints Ø   “The Church of...

Dealing with a Local Political Organization

A recent experience with an up and coming GOP organization has prompted me to think of what is and what is not appropriate for the organization.  First: a word of caution, be sure all elected agreement of the constitution, meeting places, advertising, use of social media, how often the group should meet, and etc. 1.       For example: meeting places should be appropriate at local community buildings such as courthouses, fairgrounds, library, and etc. Not appropriate places include bars, pubs, taverns, etc. Also keep in mind restaurants are not always a good place for meetings. 2.       Another example is how often the organization should meet. For an up and coming organization there should be a meeting once a month. For an established organization meetings every other month. An established organization may have social gathering every third month or as the membership decides.  Second: a word of caution. Be sure all ele...
